I live in Sarasota and I boat a cheap boat from a guy who told me he lost his registration and being an idiot I didn’t even get a bill of sale. The guy wont respond now when I try to contact him. It could be a stolen boat but I’m assuming he just doesn’t want to bother with transferring the title. The tag office told me I would have to get a ridiculously expensive court order. Would it be cheaper if I just called the sheriffs office and tried to claim it as an abandoned boat?
